Meditation on the holy Scriptures , free us from mental slavery.
— Lailah Gifty AkitaSometimes I get so sad that it jest sounds good.
— Abbi GlinesMindfulness & Meditation help focus on the moment while at the same time knowing we cannot capture that moment, we are in a flow of moments we let flow. We can watch moments in detail without being attached to them. Non-attachment to past & future stems from this practice. Worry about past or future is wasted energy, however we can observe the past & learn from it without agonising over it & trust ourselves to handle the future better. We can celebrate the opportunity to grow as we gain understanding from observation & experience. We can watch ourselves & avoid being caught up in over-reactions. 'I am loved, right now, in this moment, I love, and am part of love itself. I am aware of myself at every level - the mental slowing gracefully to sense the spiritual within & all around, and the physical being still, or moving. I tune in to the flow of life in my body & the flow of life everywhere. I circulate love with each breath - from without to within & from within to all around.
— Jay WoodmanIf your consciousness is without form, without quality, and without characteristics of any kind, would that not imply that the consciousness in every other being is also formless? And if they are all without form, how can you distinguish their consciousness from your own? What forms would you use to compare them? Isn’t the observing you exactly the same as the observing them?
— Joseph P. KauffmanMost physical battles begin once mental ones have been lost, anyway. Conquer the mind, conquer the body.
— A.J. DarkholmeEmancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds!
— Marcus GarveyLove is a mental madness.
— Lailah Gifty AkitaOut of sight, out of mind, right? That motto is just atemporary fix—until you’re forced to come face to face with what you’ve been running from. That’s whenthe mental walls you’ve built to hide behind come crashing down in one hard blow.
— Penelope WardAs cliché as it might sound, I'd rather lose than win by cheating. The latter is a much deeper, more personal loss in that one is admittedly whispering to himself his lack of competence. His cheating then begets more cheating, as he is ever-privately, ever-subconsciously insulting himself; thus, gradually deteriorating any remaining confidence.
— Criss JamiYou must also give mental and physical fitness priority.
